I think therefore I am…

Elizabeth over at Muddy Boots thinks that I think, I tell you the pressure is on now to get away from the dribble that has been flowing through my keyboard. πŸ˜‰

I truly am honored to receive such an award. I realize that my little patch of land in the blogiverse is full of many different flower patches. I have tulips or my mommy stuff,

and weeds, which can be lovely.

So, you are probably wondering, who else thinks…

Only Sometimes Clever, Mom Loves Being at Home, Mother Crone’s Homeschool, and Dishpan Dribble just to name a few. I could go on and on but I must stop myself before I start with the dribble again.

Meme, Meme, Meme

Oooh, it has been some time since I have done a meme. The beautiful and crafty chica, Euphoria, has tagged me so I must oblige because that’s what blogland buddies do, right? Added bonus, her hubby likes the Cowboys. πŸ˜€

Favorite Disney Movie – Cinderella

Greatest Dessert – This is hard because I love desserts. Good Tiramisu is always a weakness for me but lately the Tuxedo Chocolate Cake from Olive Garden has been making me weak in the knees.

Best Craft – Gollygee, just one, how about sewcroknitting a new craft for those that sew, knit, & crochet. πŸ™‚

Occupation – Chief Executive Officer of a small corporation consisting of 4 employees, 2 are underage but hey, who’s gonna tell.

Dream Job – One in which the money wasn’t the main reason for doing it..I guess my current job would qualify then…LOL!

Greatest Hero – Jesus and I wouldn’t mind having Wonder Woman’s truth lasso because sometimes I am slow in the area of discernment.

Pet Peeve – One of many is when people leave their blinker on while they are driving.

Randomness about You – I become empowered when watching HGTV to the point that I really think that I can go build a deck or my own home. πŸ™‚

That was fun!!! Now, if you want to join in the fun, go for it.

Playing Catch Up – Sports, Crafts & Swap-bots

Happy Tuesday one and all! I feel like I have been seriously slacking with my posts and trust me it is not because I don’t have anything to say or share. πŸ˜€ The Jeff Gordon win on Saturday night sent my heart into palpitations and then on Sunday my beloved Cowboys went down to that other team which shall rename nameless. I know, I can’t win them all but the Packers did do well by beating the Redskins, so my Boys are still atop their division. They need some discipline though because the penalties are killing us.

Okay, moving on, have you ever done Swap-Bot? If you have and you haven’t told me, why have you been holding out? I learned about it from Cindy and OMG, I absolutely love it. I signed up for a few swaps and today, I received my first one in the mail. I signed up for a Nice & Cozy swap and the idea was to send a book that you have read and something to drink for the person to snuggle up with as the weather changes and of course people add in some extra goodies based on your completed profile (basically your likes and dislikes). I received this great package from my swap partner.

It had a great tag on it and I loved the presentation. I will wait a few days before sharing what I sent just in case they meander over here.

And I also signed up for a newbie swap..guess what, my swap partner emailed me and she is in Japan *gasp* and she asked how I felt about Japanese craft books, holy moly, I am so excited. Someone needs to make a dancing smilie face…okay, just picture the dancing baby from Ally McBeal. πŸ™‚

You may have remembered when I shared a sketch for a pattern for a stuffed doll that I had thought of giving to my SIL who is due in December. Well, I made the doll but I didn’t know how she would feel about handmade items so I have kept it for myself and I think I would like to do some tweaking as the doll has some felt hair but based on how I cut it, it doesn’t show up like I would like. Don’t you love her silver bling necklace, thrifted ric rac rocks!!

my first doll

I did go to my SIL’s baby shower over the weekend. I forgot to take pics of the blankets that I made but here are the onesies, she was so touched and made a special note that they were handmade…I was touched (someone pass me a tissue while I wipe my eyes). The second group has some iron-ons that were vintage that I had thrifted.

There is more but let’s face it, I need to go to bed because I am a sleepyhead. C ya later alligators.

Pay It Forward Friday

Yeah, today is Friday!!! This has been a weird week for me in so many ways and I am thankful for all the words of encouragement and support. I think it is important to keep things in perspective and that has been helpful as I found myself at a point where too many roads where interesecting and future direction was unclear and unfamiliar.

Even when we do not know what is ahead, it is important to keep going as we trust and believe.

As a way of saying thank you, I would like to join in the different pay it forward memes that are out there and because I was one on Ali’s blog, I am passing it on this Friday. The first 10 people that comment here TODAY will receive something handmade from me within the next 6 months. If you are wondering why such a big number, that would be my silliness for asking a 5 year old to pick a # between 1 and 10 and being the Princess & Star that she is, she picked 10. πŸ™‚

I don’t know what you will receive or when but it will be within the next 6 months. If I don’t receive 10 comments, then those that do comment will receive something extra special. πŸ˜€ I would appreciate it if you would keep it going by doing the same on your blog and it doesn’t have to be something handmade nor do you have to choose 10 people, it is the principle of paying it forward that is important. Remember it is better to give than to receive. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for reading and sharing your souls with me as we journey through life.

Random Stuff

Life, marriage, sick kids, devotion time, spiritual hunger and thirsting, family, extended family, money, helping others, time management, homeschool, personality differences, feeling slighted, confusion, betrayal or feelings thereof, the list goes on.

Of course being close to the cycle of the moon doesn’t help in that I am capable of overprocessing and overanalyzing even the smallest of things. I just have stuff on the brain and it is all random and sometimes it is easier to share it in this format with all of you (who happen to be a lot more caring than folks that I see IRL).

I know in the midst of wading through my stuff, God still loves me and I am a Princess. I also know that Jeff Gordon is the points leader in NASCAR and my beloved Cowboys are still undefeated, so things aren’t all crazy in the world. πŸ˜‰

Confession – I am a corrector & know-it-all

Whew, I am glad to finally get that off of my chest. I do not do it on purpose (I really don’t) but I have a bad habit of correcting people when I am in their midst. I could blame it on my 8th grade English Teacher – Ms. Beuschel – she had a grammar bell and each student had their day with the bell. On your day, you had to ding the bell whenever anyone misspoke and if you didn’t catch it then you lost points.

Regardless of where this inner need for correction comes from it is very annoying to my hubby (probably others as well) and especially when it is combined with my other bad habit – he likes to call it that I always think (really know) that I am smarter than others. Now that I think about it, he says it but so does my mom and a dear friend. So obviously, it is a thing that I need to work on because people often feel that I am talking down to them.

Ahhh, today’s devotion from Proverbs 31 Ministries really hit home regarding these two areas. So, I may have days of being a gentle breeze, but I am sure that I also have my sledge hammer days and they are probably more easily remembered. The devotion included some action steps:

Enjoy God’s quiet presence and tender love.

Don’t let harshness become a bad habit. Begin to replace it with gentleness.

Practice patience.

Refrain from interrupting, correcting or nagging your husband.

Think before you speak. Do you really need to say what you’re about to say?

Spend time with friends or family who have a gentle spirit and observe.

I am glad it is fall because if it was summer, my open toes would have been bloodied from all of the stepping on. Please pray for your sister as I seek to be a better wife, mother, friend and daughter of the King.

Being a Superhero (Name and Powers)

Hello my dear friends….I hope that each of you enjoyed your weekend. I have a lot of heavy stuff on my mind but it hasn’t all settled into those neat little places in my mind for me to go there just yet, so I thought that I would ease back into this wonderful medium with not 1 but 2 silly quizzes…because they are so fun.

While reading through my evergrowing Bloglines account, Comfy Denim had this ca-ute (Yes, I stole this word) quiz, so what kind of superhero power would you have?

Your Superpower Should Be Super Speed

You’re quick witted and fast to act.
You’re mind works at warp speed. From your perspective, everyone else is living in slow motion.
You get so much done, people have accused you of not sleeping.
Definitely not a couch potato, you feel a bit crazy if you’re not busy doing something.

Why you would be a good superhero: You’re be the first on the scene… and likely to finish the job before anyone else shows up

Your biggest problem as a superhero: Being bored by everyone else. Including other superheroes!

You can’t be a superhero without a name, so then there is this little quiz (they are totally unrelated except for involving being a superhero.

Your Superhero Profile

Your Superhero Name is The Turbo Lightning
Your Superpower is Dance Dance Revolution
Your Weakness is Handshakes
Your Weapon is Your Web Gun
Your Mode of Transportation is Monster Truck
