I'm an independent momma, r u?

I saved this post from Spirittibee in my Bloglines and decided to take the mothering personailty test. Four quick questions to help you determine your style of mothering. It’s pretty painless, so go here and do it and let me know your results.

If you recall, I did another personality test before and the results were ENTJ and for this one, my style is that of the Independence Mother or ENTP. I find it interesting that I am more perceiving than judging when it comes to parenting, probably because of the curveballs of life.

Here is the rest of the write-up:

Your type is: entp —The “Independence” Mother

“When I held my babies, I always faced them outward so they could take in the world.”

Full of energy and confident in her own self-sufficiency and competence, the ENTP mother encourages her children—as a role model and as a teacher—to be independent and confident on their own in the world.

A “big picture” person, she points out options and possibilities along the way. Objective and logical as well, the ENTP wants her children to evaluate their choices and learn from the consequences of their own decisions.

The ENTP mother is resourceful and action-oriented. She likes going places and doing things with her children, exploring all that life has to offer. She is less concerned with rules, routines, and schedules. Introducing her children to new concepts and activities, challenging them, and stimulating their intellectual development are top priorities.

  1. Nope. I’m a “Love of Learning Mother”. But if I could find a way to be more extroverted, I could be one. 🙂

Boy was that quiz spot-on, too. I was wondering how close it would really be with so few choices.

  2. I liked that! I think it has me:

Your type is: istj —The “Responsibility” Mother

“I have a serious love affair with to-do lists. I could sit for hours reading, organizing, and rearranging my weekly calendar.”

  3. I feel like I must have a split personality, because I couldn’t even get through the test. I am both of everything. I am extroverted, yet I enjoy one-on-one time and guard the kids schedules. I am practical, yet imaginative and aware. I guess this means I am either very well-rounded, or schizophrenic!

  4. I’m an ISTJ “Responsibility Mother”, too… but I’m not quite as all that as the results show. I have a little too much “E” and a little too much “P” to be a “pure” ISTJ.

  5. I’m a “How To” mom. I am not Extroverted myself, but I try to instill that in my children by getting them out to play with other kids and giving them experiences.
