Tuesday Tote

Finally, I planned and completed a gift!!!! I usually have concepts and the like but don’t actually implement in a timely fashion thus finding myself at some store trying to quickly procure a gift and a card. Our grand niece (is there such a thing) turned 5 and had a party on Saturday. As background, my hubby comes from a large family and he is the 2nd to the youngest so he has nephews and nieces that are my age being that he and I are 9 years apart. The year A was born there were 4 girls born in the family and 3 are great grands whereas A is a grand. Needless to say the cousins all get along quite well but this cousin is one of A’s favorites.

I thought a crayon holder would be cute and a small tote bag to match so she can carry around her goodies. ๐Ÿ™‚ I made the card too but forgot to take a picture.

  1. Makes me want to color. Fun!

I find coloring to be very relaxing. So does my mom as she usually takes over my kids menu at restaurants and colors the entire thing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. How adorable! I am sad though, as I asked my son if he wanted one and he said he was done with crayons! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Girlie wants to make one for her colored pencils….can you post some general directions, or email me with them? Thanks!

You mean Scout doesn’t want a crayon roll, boys! ๐Ÿ˜€ Colored pencils, knitting needles and crochet hooks can all be held with some modifications. Hmm a tutorial, will work on that!

  3. That’s cute, and will definitely fulfill a five year girl’s desire to have grown up things. Very fitting gift. Good work.

Thank you!!! She’s definitely a special little one.

  4. cute cute cute! I love the polkadotty fabric and how you tied both of them together by using it as the lining… good choice! Every time that I make someone else a gift, all my kids want one too… That happen at your house? My kids would be all over the crayon role!

Funny thing, my kids weren’t excited about the crayon roll. However, my daughter definitely wanted the purse, go figure! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh, the crayon holder is ingenious! I can imagine why little girls love the purse more—they don’t yet understand the allure of organization!!!

Hee hee, yes organization the behemoth that it is.
