My Knitting Muse has returned

I picked up my needles today and began a summer shawl from the Lion Brand website. I haven’t knitted in quite some time as I have been doing some other things. Dh feels that I am strange in that I do different things (knit, make my own jewelry, sew, learn Mandarin, teach myself guitar, etc.) and when/if I stop doing any of them consistently he believes that I have lost interest. I haven’t lost interest, I just found some other things to occupy my time and I feel that as long as I know how to do these things, I can pick them back up at any time. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will share that my mom has become the dishcloth Queen. I taught her how to knit and she made a few dishcloths for her ladies group and now people have placed orders. I must admit that they are the best for washing dishes. She made me laugh a while back as she purchased a book on more intricate dishcloths. Who knew dishclothes could have cables and the like….

  1. rofl, This is so much like me, I have a thousand different hobbies and interests, and I’m what hubby calls “flighty”. I may drop one (or ten) of them here and there, lol, but I usually go back…eventually. It’s my curse to want to learn everything I possibly can, so sometimes things have to…well, take a backseat to learning something new ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Mandarin? How awesome!

I learned to knit before Thanksgiving…I started 2 scarves for Christmas gifts but they were constantly being unraveled by my toddler and 5 y/o! I gave up but I want to take it up again sometime.

  3. Jaime – we can start a flighty girls club but knowing us we would stop meeting when something else more interesting came up…ha ha ha. I am glad to know that I am not alone in my quest.

Bordermama – pick those needles up and keep them away from the kids. I find it therapeutic and at the end of my ongoing therapy session, I have something to show for it.
